The inauguration Women’s Cell of Milagres PU College Hampankatta was held on Tuesday,13th June 2023 in the College auditorium. All the girls actively took part in the program. Mrs. Beulah Rego, a senior teacher at Milagres High School was the Chief Guest. Theprogram was presided by Mr. Melwin Vas, the Principal of Milagres PU College.The coordinators Mrs. Cheryl Benedicta Dsouza and Sr. Maxi Borges, the president of thewomen’s cell Ms Khathija Jaseena and Secretary Fatima Shifa were also present on the dais.The Chief Guest Mrs Beulah Rego, inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.In the inaugural address, she said, women’s cell acts as a catalyst in ensuring women’sempowerment and women’s safety on the campus of any institution. The main aim of theWomen’s Cell is to help girl students to understand the role of women in constructing ahealthy society. Different activities organized by the Women’s Cell help the students tostrengthen their self-confidence, nurture their skills in decision-making, and to widen theirperspectives on issues related to gender. Concluding her speech she said, “Arise, Awake andAchieve" should be the slogan of women’s cell.Principal Mr. Melwin Vas, said in his message that the Women Cell of Milagres PU Collegeshould strive to empower girl students by imparting awareness of Women’s Rights andDuties.Interesting and fun-filled games were conducted for all girls.The programme was compered by Ms. Mushina from II HEBA.Ms. Zulfa, from II CEBA welcomed the gathering, and Ms. Shahdiya, from I CEBAproposed the vote of thanks.
